Confrontational Electroencephalographic Re-Programming is an experimental video short which explores Joseph Nechvatal’s theory of Cybism and the possibilities of rhizomatic communication. In a live experiment, three participants’ brainwaves are electronically mapped using biosensor technology. Live time data of their brainwave activity is generated with a visualizer while subjects glitch and distort their visualized brainwave data. Their reactions to the modifications of their biocensor data generates a corollary reaction in their brainwave readings, and a visual feedback loop is generated. The video features footage of the live glitches and distortions to the subjects’ biocensor data in an abstract aesthetic montage.
